Old Fashioned Pancakes
Ingredients
- 2 C all-purpose flour (3)
- 5 tsp baking powder (7½)
- 1¼ tsp salt (2)
- 4 tsp powdered sugar (6)
- 2 C milk (3)
- 1 egg (2)
- 4 TBSP butter, melted (6)
Optional Substitutions
- 226 g Whole Wheat Flour (113g=1C)
- ¼ C Grapeseed Oil (instead of butter)
Directions
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar (you may have to press the sugar through the screen some).
- Pour in the milk and the egg mix until smooth.
- Add the melted butter and stir to fully integrate.
- Heat the electric griddle to 350F. Or use a frying pan over medium high heat.
- Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, (makes approximately 15 pancakes if using ¼ cup for each pancake).
- Brown on both sides (about 60 seconds per side) and serve hot.
